Fischer, Colleagues Aim to Overturn Administration鈥檚 EV Tax Credit Rule

WASHINGTON 鈥撀燭oday, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) joined her Senate colleagues in introducing legislation to overturn the U.S. Department of the Treasury鈥檚 final rule implementing the 30D Clean Vehicle Credit. This resolution will end tax credits for electric vehicles with batteries containing Chinese sourced materials like graphite. U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, sponsored this resolution.

鈥淧resident Biden wants to prop up America鈥檚 transition to EVs by keeping Chinese graphite flowing into the United States. As usual, China will profit richly off the administration鈥檚 鈥榞reen鈥 energy dreams. If Joe Biden wants to force EVs on 明星黑料s, he should at least find another source of graphite,鈥澛said Senator Fischer.

In addition to Senators Fischer and Manchin, the legislation is cosponsored by U.S. Senators聽Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Mike Braun (R-Ind.).

U.S. Representatives Carol Miller (R-W.Va.) and Jared Golden (D-Maine) are introducing a similar resolution in the House.
